Unique Innovative Design
The MV-1 is not like other mobility vans out there. While other mobility vehicles are modified versions of existing models of various makes, the MV-1 is a factory made mobility vehicle. The MV-1 has been designed and is produced to be used specifically as a wheelchair accessible vehicle by its manufacturer The Vehicle Production Group LLC (VPG).
The MV-1 addresses accessibility issues for people who use a wheelchair. It allows entry and exit via a 3-foot wide by 5-foot tall side door. Wheelchairs, as well as scooters, can easily roll into the vehicle with the help of a built-in, non-slip ramp that is integrated into the van's floor. This ramp can be effortlessly deployed either manually or with the use of optional electronic controls.
Inside, a wide cabin allows the easy positioning of the wheelchair in the front passenger area, beside the driver, where it can be locked into place with a ratchet anchoring system. This anchoring system also includes the removable, 3-point seatbelt for the wheelchair-bound passenger.
